From Rustic to Remarkable:The Transformation of an 1894 BarN

A blank slate.

Removing the topsoil.

Laying down gravel to prepare the base.

Forming the foundation.

With the foundation complete, the historic timber frame will sit atop cement piers.

The barn stands once again, held together solely by wooden pegs.

Pine boarding locks everything in place, just as it did in 1894.

Structural insulated wall panels wrap the exterior, providing both structure and insulation.

Structural insulated panels provide both structure and insulation for the roof.

Plywood provides a solid base for the slate roof.

Reinstalling the original slate roof, one slate at a time.

Site concrete takes shape.

Slate roof completed, and septic lines dug.

Siding, gutters, and downspouts completed.

Parking strips added and prepped for grass seed.

Site work completed.
